Artists Caught by Umeå is a photography, film and design competition which is one of the key activities that has been implemented to market Umeå’s role as the European Capital of Culture 2014.
The outcome of this creative competition is that Umeå is now making a tour of seven European cities throughout September and October, putting North Swedish culture and life under the spotlight.
Umeå on tour
The art contributions of the competition’s semi-finalists are to be exhibited on the tour in an igloo-like structure and in Nordic teepees, where you can maybe do a spot of ice sculpting, see presentations from the Umeå School of Architecture and Institute of Design, listen to local music from Hammock Sessions, record your voice in The Voice Painter and even be part of an opera.
