Amanda and Kristian Matsson, aka Idiot Wind and The Tallest Man On Earth, are a somewhat reclusive musical couple. The Swedish singer-songwriters hail from near Dalarna and, perhaps unbeknownst to some, are actually married, to each other.

Audience members who were wowed by the intimacy of their stunning duets that peppered the 2011 TTMOE tours, were left in no doubt that there was a spark between the Swedish folk troubadour and this songstress who waltzed on stage all too fleetingly for one song only. Although, when I saw this magical performance for the first time in Paradiso back in May 2011, I wasn’t even aware they were a couple. Once I found out, I began my favourite pastime of figuring out how they might have got together. Of course, I never discovered the answer – until now that is (short answer: it involved Myspace), thanks to a four-part documentary from the Swedish digital channel PSL.
A sneak peak into the lives of Amanda and Kristian
The film has been released for the first time with English subtitles, and it invites viewers to take a sneak peak into the lives of Amanda and Kristian. We are taken on a tour around the snowy countryside, near where they grew up, in the dead of winter and hear stories of life, love and lyrical prowess. To end the journey, the fourth episode is rounded off with the couple’s hauntingly beautiful rendition of Damien Jurado‘s ‘Working Titles’ song (taken from the Maraqopa album). Absolutely sublime!
