Last spring, a new avenue for art launched in Amsterdam when the Finnish creative consultancy Agent Pekka opened an office in the city (see our preview here). Last month there was another celebration, with the launch of an exhibition in the foyer of advertising agency Wieden+Kennedy Amsterdam that featured all of Agenta Pekka’s hand-picked illustrators and designers are featured – including Craig & Karl, whose work can be seen in the event poster. The exhibition runs until mid-April, although isn’t open to the public – so only those lucky enough to have a meeting at the W+K office will get to see it up-close. If you weren’t lucky enough to make it to the launch, Agent Pekka have shared with us an insight into the opening night.
The show is a collaboration with Wieden+Kennedy Amsterdam and the Finnish Cultural Institute for the Benelux, and also includes art from ‘Pekka of Finland – Contemporary Illustration from the Land of Booze and Blondes’, an exhibition that has been touring Europe since September 2011. So far, the exhibition has been part of the Brussels Design September programme, Dutch Design Week and it has been seen in Budapest, Sofia, Athens, Stockholm and Berlin.
