Nordic Delight, post-fest perspective of a performer: #1 Daniel Norgren (SE)

Posted by: Carmel , 9 maart, 2013

Yes, Nordic Delight is over and, yes, we are still experiencing the Nordic haze that has enveloped us since last Saturday. Those good-time vibes are being allowed to linger a little longer as we remember and reminisce. On this site (here and here), we have already shared  some of our highlights – and also on the Nordic Vibes feed here, we asked for people’s favourite bits of the fest (and we’d still love to hear from you).

But what of the bands? How did they find the festival? Over a series of three articles, we’ll be bring your different perspectives from three performers who were all among this NV writer’s highlights.

Daniel Norgren – post-show/one-sentence-sum-up:

“A big family reunion with family that you didn’t know you had… met some interesting folks that night.”

So, first-up is Daniel Norgren. Following last week’s preview article on our website and this quirky Q&A which Daniel kindly answered, I am now even more enamoured by this performer after seeing his live set and falling in love with his new album Buck. But it is not words that describe his experience of Nordic Delight, but a set of awesome images that give us festival goers a glimpse into life on the other side.

All photos shown here are by Petra Wester Norgren (Daniel’s tour manager) and you can check out more amazing photos on her blog here, whilst at the same time keeping an eye on what Daniel gets up to on the rest of his tour.

He’ll be back again in April with Anders Grahn on bass delivering us more ‘harmonies of Buck’. I for one can’t wait for his Paradiso date on 26 April. For now, here’s a video that some kind soul has made of a track from the album.

So that was a pictorial perspective of Nordic Delight from one of the performers. In the coming days, we hope to bring you two more: one from the perspective of a singer on her first trip to this Dutch land and one from the perspective of an instrument that adorned the stage on Saturday – any guesses which bands these might be yet?

If you have any other Nordic Delight stories that you’d like to share, you can do so at our Facebook page here or tweet-us-up at: @nordicvibes. Takk/tak/tack/kiitos!
