Nordic Vibes are always abundant around this wonderful website of ours but this week, more than any other, there seems to be that little bit extra Nordicness in the air! It will all culminate in the wondrous Nordic Delight festival on Saturday but before then, I will take a little journey that connects the Nordic nights and (web)sites of Amsterdam, London, Berlin and Utrecht:

Nordic Vibes – AMSTERDAM / UTRECHT
The tour begins in Amsterdam, where this Nordic Vibes writer lives. In the last few weeks, the Utrecht-based website has been featuring a number of acts that will play at Nordic Delight, and ever since the luistertip for Burning Hearts, I’ve been itching to see the band live. Ja Ja Ja Music – LONDON
Ja Ja Ja Music is a website, a club night and a lot more in-between. The monthly gigs are an initiative supported by Nordic Music Export (NoMEx), with bands booked by some top industry bods. At the Ja Ja Ja gig on 28 Feb, not one but two bands play (Burning Hearts and Lay Low) who will also grace the stage a few days later in Utrecht. Maybe I’ll be on the plane back with them to Schiphol?

Nordic by Nature – BERLIN
Landing in the Netherlands again, I’ll definitely be on the hunt for Nina and Steffi – the duo behind Nordic by Nature – who have been bringing Scandinavian sounds to Berlin in the form of a blog, mixtapes, events, a radio show… the list goes on. And on Saturday, the Nordic by Nature DJs will be in Utrecht: after the bands finish, the music still goes on and the party only just gets started!

Nordic Delight – UTRECHT
And the reason we are all Utrecht bound? It’s the inaugral Nordic Delight festival of course – which is not just about music but also a celebration of Nordic lifesyle.
