Sin Fang – the musical incarnation of Iceland’s Sindri Már Sigfússon – is currently out on the road and the band played a sold-out show last night in Germany.
To coincide with Sin Fang’s European tour that started yesterday and swings into Turnhout in Belgium for a much-anticipated show (with Sóley) this evening, we’d like to take this opportunity to celebrate band’s new EP, Half Dreams. This is officially released by Morr Music today, although was available as a pre-release on vinyl EP from anost.net and a digital download via Gogogoyoko (which is where it has received a fair few plays on my account!). The iTunes download will be available this tuesday.
The opening song of the five-track EP is ‘Only Eyes’. The song has a summery feel although the video has a bit of an autumnal vibe going on as well – what with that big bunch of twigs (not sure what that’s about). The backdrop to the video features illustrations by the Alfensin Bros (otherwise known as Sindri and Örvar from Múm) and are taken from their Picture Book which published at the end of last year. You might also spot Sindri’s cat in the video, as well as his mother’s surfboard apparently. We’re guessing that Sin Fang left his (pretty cute) cat at home, but can anyone who makes it to the show tonight let us know whether or not he left his (not so cute) twigs at home as well?!
