In honour of Ólafur Arnalds‘ sold out gig tonight in Eindhoven (how many of you are lucky enough to be going?!), we thought we’d share a video with you.
Readers of this website will possibly already know of Ólafur’s Living Room Songs (we featured it here on Nordic Vibes last October), when he stayed in his living room for one week and created a beautiful piece of music every day (which is now an album out on Erased Tapes).
Two years previously, he’d undertook a similar project called Found Songs where his 7-songs-in-7-days concept was born (you can listen to the songs here). The idea of that project was to inspire fans to create artwork, with thousands of people submitting photos and creating artwork of some form or other.
This video is one of the pieces of art that came about out of that project, by Esteban Diácono – a young motion graphic artist from Buenos Aires, Argentina – who created an astonishing animation video for ‘Ljósið’.
Maybe you’ve seen it before, but we’re sure you will be as entranced as you were the first time if you take some time to sit and listen and watch the beautiful creation before your eyes and ears.
Enjoy!
