Icelandic band Múm will play in Antwerp next week and we are predicting lots of experimental pop shenanigans will be had!
This show took us a little bit by surprise – there are no plans for Múm to undertake a full tour it seems just yet – but we were very pleased to hear that they do have two dates this month, one being this gig in Antwerp. It is part of a week of shows curated by Stef Kamil Carlens at Tonheelhuis, with an eclectic mix of acts playing every day that have been specifically selected by the Belgian musician himself.
Icelandic exoticism, experimental electronics and the sounds of the 2009 album Sing Along to Songs You Don’t Know (released by Morr Music) were all reasons for him to invite Múm to headline on Wednesday 21 March when they will fill the auditorium with their undoubtedly beautiful acoustics.
The show takes place Toneelhuis (location Bourla) and tickets are available here. We thought we’d give you a heads-up, in the hope that you will want to zoom on up.down.across to Antwerp to party with these Reykjavikians!
To entice you, we would like to share this video (directed by Kevin Phillips) for the second track ‘Sing Along’ on the above-mentioned 2009 album. We would love to know your thoughts about it… dark and disturbing, or clever and cunning? Or something else entirely??
